The trout action has been tremendous over the past week with some nice limits being reported over the week. Dixon Lake has over 3600 pounds of Rainbow Trout that has been stocked in the last 2 weeks!!! Many trout have been in the 4 to 6-pound range since stocking for the derby. The best baits have been yellow and green power bait, night crawlers and Thomas Buoyant lures, with the fire color proving best. Trout Cove and Pier #3 areas have been seeing the most action. The Boat Dock Cove fishing pier has been seeing a lot of action too. Most anglers are reporting average size trout in the 1 to 2-pound range with some larger 4 to 6-pound range thrown into the mix. The last stock was planted April 29, with 1200 pounds of rainbow trout. The week of May 5-9 will be a skip week for stocking. The LAST STOCK of the trout season will be dumped in the week of May 12-16, with 1200 pounds of rainbow trout.

A few catfish were reported this weekend. Try using cut mackerel or night crawlers in the deeper parts of the lake or near the Buoy line.

The bass have come and gone. Bass action has slowed to a crawl with no large bass to report over the last week. The lake is already seeing small bass fry schooling in some areas. Better things to come NEXT YEAR.
