Greetings from Lake Cuyamaca: !! STOCKING!! Mt. Lassen will be stocking 1,700 lbs of there finest rainbow trout along with some trophy size for your angling pleasure this Memorial weekend. The bite for all species has continued to improve. Crappie are as plentiful as always. The shore line action has been good using bait, with boats experiencing the same results while trout fishing with bait. Boats have the advantage for the bullhead catfish. Trolling has been poor. The Bass are up in the shallows for the spawn!!

OPEN EVERY DAY 6AM--- SUNSET

Trout Bait: 16-24 inch leader off the bottom inflated night crawler smeared with scent, Power Bait. (Pautzkes Krill gel or liquid Krill scent)

Best Trout Lures: Fire Tiger Rapala, Little Cleo, Yellow Roster Tail. Use scent (Krill gel works best)

Best Trout Spots: Pumphouse Cove, Fox Hole, Lone Pine, Chambers Park

Notable: Ed Lesnoski, Valley Center, 52inch 37lbs Sturgeon, Power bait, North Jetty. Mike Wolfe, El Cajon, 6lbs 8oz Largemouth Bass, +3 Trout, Power Bait, Lone Pine. Fly Fishing: East Lake action is very good fishing Olive Matukas, Wooly Buggers, and some dry flies. Work the trench. As the water continues to be pumped the area to fish is limited, they are healthy and full of fight. Seeing activity on the surface in the West Lake.

Nature Walk: The guided walk will be rescheduled .The trail is open for daily use. 3 1/2 miles around the lake.

Free Fishing Class Saturday at 10:AM: Ranger Willard will teach tried and true trout tactics, using Baits, Tube Jigs, and Lures along with Mini Jigs for Crappie, plus Night Crawlers for Bullheads.

Prognosis:!! With the stocking of trout from Mt Lassen this week added to the inventory the odds are in your favor. The warming weather conditions has all the fish on the bite. The pump is on so Pump House Cove will continue to produce numbers and quality fish. The East Lake is producing quality trout on flies! Wade out and fish the trench. * Remember the channel its deep* (above your waders). Bass are in the shallows. Wild flowers are starting to bloom adding to the colors of spring!! Bring the family and enjoy Memorial Day Weekend with us !!!!!!
