Catching the Spotlight
Another great week of fishing! Popular baits for bass this week have been soft plastics such as senkos and fat ikas. Makua (top left) caught this largemouth out of Lake 4 on a Jackall swimbait. Emmet caught this largemouth out of Lake 7 on a green pumpkin senko. Kai (bottom left) caught this largemouth out of Lake 1 on a topwater. Wendy (bottom right) caught this largemouth out of Lake 6 on a plastic. Join us for our next Night Fishing event on July 26th, 2018 at 5:00 PM. Lanterns are required and radios will not be permitted. No state license required. Lakes 1 through 4 only. Our next scheduled stock will be on Friday July 27th, 2018 of 1,000 pounds of catfish split between two lakes.
Lake lowdown
Avg. Water Temp: 80.7°F
Water Clarity: 8 ft.
The catfish bite has remained consistent with many reports of fish caught on shrimp. The bass bite has slowed down due to the high heat, but anglers are still catching fish on soft plastics such as senkos and fat ikas. Bluegill have been seen along the shorelines searching for prey. Popular baits for bluegill include wax worms, meal worms, and red worms.
