Catching the Spotlight
The bass bite this week has been great! Chris (top left) caught this largemouth out of Lake 4 on a senko. Chris (top right) caught this largemouth out of Lake 1 on a frog. Tony and Leonard (bottom left) caught these catfish out of Lake 2 on mackerel. Ryder (bottom right) caught this largemouth out of Lake 5 on a senko.
Join us October 6th and 7th for our annual Stockzilla event! 3,500 pounds of catfish will be stocked and distributed throughout all 7 lakes! Tagged fish and surprise giveaways all weekend! No California state license required only a Santee Lakes fishing permit.
Lake lowdown
Avg. Water Temp: 79.8°F
Water Clarity: 8 ft.
The catfish bite has remained consistent with reports of fish being caught on meal worms and mackerel in the early mornings and late evenings. Popular spots for catfish have been the south sides of Lakes 2 and 3. The bass have been biting on soft plastics such as senkos, fat ikas, and robo worms. Popular spots for bass have been the east side of Lake 4 and the west side of Lake 5.
