Night fishing will be held every Friday and Saturday nights until the end of August. A limited amount of shoreline will provide fishing from shore until 11:45 p.m. Boats can be rented starting at 5 p.m. and must in by 10:45 p.m. Motorboats with trolling motors can be rented for $20.00 and rowboats for $12.00.

The hot summer days are a perfect time to come on up to Dixon Lake to enjoy the cooler evenings and soak a line for the catfish. With the recent stock on July 31, the catfish action was hot and heavy from the shoreline mainly along the Boat Dock Cove area on cut mackerel. Trout Cove and the Buoy line have been producing good numbers of cats too. Frank Garcia of San Diego pulled in a limit of cats weighing in at 24 lb. 12 oz. His largest cat of the night was a 9 lb. 12 oz. from the Buoy line. The cats have been in the 1 to 2-pound range with some larger fish in the 2 to 4-pound range thrown into the mix. The next stock for catfish will be planted August 14, with 2000 pounds of catfish, and the LAST STOCK of the season is slated for August 28, with the final 2000 pounds of catfish.
