The lake will close on weekdays after Labor Day remaining open only on the weekends throughout the fall. We will re-open seven days a week in mid-December following the first trout plant.

Another big catfish was caught this week. Eric Risen of La Jolla while fishing for bass with a jerk-bait off Twin Peaks instead landed an enormous 32.50# Blue Catfish which he weighed in at the boathouse and promptly released. Cut mackerel, chicken liver, or shrimp are the top baits for catfish.

The lake will remain open for weekday fishing until after Labor Day when we will close on weekdays but remain open on weekends through fall re-opening full time in mid-December. The Catfish bite is best at the West Buoy Line. Lake Wohlford cats prefer chicken liver or cut mackerel. Largemouth Bass can be found lurking around structure and respond well to crawdads, frogs, and other dark colored plastics.
