  • Stocking:  The next trout stocking of 1,500 lbs. is this week bringing our total stock for the season up to 17,500 pounds! To view an updated stocking schedule, click HERE. 
  • What's the catch? Anglers reported the trout bite best during the morning hours (before 10 a.m.). They were biting on PowerBait (Salmon Egg or Chartreuse), mini jigs, and inflated 'crawlers. Hermit Cove buoy line was the most productive spot for trout fishermen on boats. Ten percent of our trout stock is over 3 lbs! Catfish seemed to have moved into deeper waters this week. Our rangers recommend coming out on Fridays nights to fish for cats. Chicken livers and mackerel are the baits of choice, but pick up some garlic nightcrawlers in the bait shop to switch it up when the bite is slow. Lots of bass catches all weekend. They are biting on swimbaits, jig heads, and plastics. One lucky fisherman caught a rare black crappie this weekend. See pic below.
  • Spring Photo Contest: This year's Spring Photo Contest theme is Life at the Lake. We welcome photos of camping, fishing, vistas, and people enjoying activities at Lake Jennings. Prizes will be awarded in youth and adult categories. The deadline for photo submission is May 31st. For more information about the Spring Photo Contest, click HERE.
  • Fireside at the Lake: Friday nights are for campfires! We have lakefront campfire pits for rent from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Friday nights. Use fees and advanced reservations are required. Rentals include firepit, wood, firestarter, and Adirondack chairs. Ask about our add on packages! Firepits are available for single households only, 4-6 persons.   • Conditions: The current water temperature is 60 degrees. Water transparency is 51 feet. For a complete weather report in Lakeside, click HERE.
  • Campground News: Camp sites are being snatched up fast! The first 3 weekends in April are almost sold out. You can check online for cancellations or give us a call to make your reservations for May, June, July, and August! Book your lake view site by visiting our reservations page.
