  • Stocking:  The LAST trout stocking of 1,500 lbs. is the week of April 19th bringing our total stock for the season to 19,000 pounds! Stay tuned for information regarding the catfish season opener.
  • What's the catch? Lots of personal bests the last few weeks because the bass bite has been and continues to be strong. Anglers are still pulling bass from all over the lake from shore or near shore from boats. Swimbaits and brush hogs are doing the trick. The best tackle for trout this weekend was mini jigs, but salmon egg PowerBait and inflated night crawlers did hook some trout as well. Trout are deep as the lake profile below would indicate. No reports of catfish this weekend, but catfish season will be here before you know it! We've stocked the bait shop with new catfish lure and bait to prep for the upcoming season. 
  • Spring Photo Contest: This year's Spring Photo Contest theme is Life at the Lake. We welcome photos of camping, fishing, vistas, and people enjoying activities at Lake Jennings. Prizes will be awarded in youth and adult categories. The deadline for photo submission is May 31st. For more information about the Spring Photo Contest, click HERE.
  • Fireside at the Lake: We have extended our firepit rentals through the month of April. The base price for a firepit is $48 for 4 people. Advanced reservations are required. Rentals include firepit, wood, firestarter, and Adirondack chairs. Ask about our add on packages! Firepits are available for single households only, 4-6 persons. For more information, call 619-596-1306. 
  • Conditions: The most recent lake profile has the surface temps at 67 degrees. You'll need to go about 35-40 feet down to reach the 60 degree water where the trout are probably hanging out. For a complete weather report in Lakeside, click HERE.
  • Campground News: Camp sites are being snatched up fast! The first 3 weekends in April are almost sold out. You can check online for cancellations or give us a call to make your reservations for May, June, July, and August! Book your lake view site by visiting our reservations page. 
  • We love receiving pictures from our fishermen and campers! If you have a picture to share, please send it to ranger@lakejennings.org and we may feature it in our newsletter or social media pages.
