Catfish were stocked yesterday and are being caught throughout the lake. Lake Wohlford cats respond well to cut mackerel or chicken liver. Stop by the ranger station for a dough-bait recipe that works well on both catfish and carp.

The rising lake level combined with an abundance of baitfish is making the bass fishing challenging right now. Those bass that are biting are hitting dark colored plastics, chatter-baits, and jerk-baits.

The new lake level has stalled what was an active Crappie bite at the west buoys. Crappie prefer live golden shiners or mini-jigs.
