The lake will close for fishing and to the general public on weekdays, as it does every year, after Labor Day beginning Sept. 5th, but will remain open on weekends.

Catfish are biting at either end of the lake now that water is coming in from the canal at the east end. Lake Wohlford cats prefer cut mackerel or chicken liver.

There are many bass being caught, but most are relatively small. The bass are hitting rats, poppers, and dark colored plastics.

Catfish can be found throughout the lake, but are particularly active near the west buoys. Lake Wohlford cats prefer cut mackerel or chicken liver. Bluegill (or any fin fish) alive or dead are not legal bait in Southern California as they are considered a game fish.
