The lake will remain closed for fishing and to the general public on weekdays throughout the fall, as it does every year, We will return to our seven day a week schedule in December at the beginning of trout season.

Catfish can be found throughout the lake, but bite best at the west buoy line. Fall is typically the time when the larger catfish become more active. Lake Wohlford cats like chicken liver, shrimp, or cut mackerel.

Crappie are being caught in small numbers underneath the crappie float or near bass point. Crappie bite mini-jigs and live golden shiners. They prefer the cover of shade and bite best early in the morning or late in the afternoon.

Small to medium sized bass are being caught near structure and along the reed lines. They have been partial to top water as of late.
