Stocking: We had back to back trout stockings due to the stocking delay the week of January 8th. Another 1,500 pounds went into the lake this week. With the stocking last week, that’s 3,000 pounds in the past two weeks! Ten percent of every stock is over 3 pounds. Follow our Instagram feed for the most updated info regarding trout stocking.

What’s the Catch? Lots of trout limits from shore last weekend! Worms and mini jigs were reeling them in. Limits were caught in Siesta and Hermit Cove. Anglers were catching trout from the campground shoreline during the week too. The campground shoreline is open for fishing to the public 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily. There is a selection of tackle, live bait and powerbait available for purchase at the campground kiosk. The bass continue to bite from Half Moon Cove and areas around the t-dock. Shiners and swimbaits are working for bass right now. A sizeable sunfish was hooked on a worm from the t-dock (see pic below). That’s the first we’ve heard of the panfish bite in a while.

Conditions: The water temperature is 63 degrees. The water column is well oxygenated and conditions are good for trout. The sun is rising at 6:47 a.m. and setting at 5:15 p.m.
