RANGER RAY FISH REPORTThe spotlight is on Matt and his dad who had a great time fishing for catfish. Even though catfish season has ended, the catfish are still biting! We are shifting our focus to the TROUT OPENER which is just a couple weeks away and you definitely don't want to miss that! Mark your calendars for November 2nd & 3rd. We will be stocking 3,500 lbs. of rainbow trout with lightning trout in the mix. There will be trophy sized rainbow trout as well as trophy sized lightning trout. In preparation for trout season, some items that work well are powerbait, salmon eggs, or mini jigs such as a kastmaster or roostertail. If you are still fishing for catfish your best bet will be to use some stinkbait, mackerel, night crawlers, or shrimp.
The bass bite is holding steady going into the fall season. Definitely recommend targeting the early morning or late afternoon windows for the best results. Some baits that have been seeing success have been crankbaits, topwater baits, jerkbaits, dropshots, and nightcrawlers.
