Stocking: Another 1,500 pounds of Rainbow Trout from Idaho was stocked this week. The next stocking from Idaho comes the week of January 20th. We will stock trout biweekly through April.

What’s the Catch? We had reports of trout, bass, and catfish bites last weekend. The trout were biting on mini jigs and worms. The population is well distributed throughout the lake this time of year, so it’s not unusual to hear trout being pulled from all over. Rangers saw schools of panfish and bass near structure. Anywhere there’s a downed tree, you’ll find a school. More bass on shiners pulled from the shoreline around the boat dock last weekend. The catfish were biting on nightcrawlers late in the day. Siesta and Shadow Coves are always great for catfish especially first thing in the morning and just before sunset.

Conditions: The current water temperature is 59 degrees near the dock. The lake is at 695 foot elevation and the water column is well oxygenated. The district has stopped the fill. The sun is rising at 6:50 a.m. and setting at 4:51 p.m.
