Stocking: The lake was stocked with 1,500 pounds of Rainbow Trout last week. The next stocking of 1,500 pounds will be the week of March 17th. Ten percent of every stock is over 2 pounds. Trout season will continue through April.

What’s the Catch?  Stringers of trout were pulled in Hermit Cove and at the buoy line by boat last weekend. Reports were that garlic Powerbait and orange Hookup baits were reeling them in. The bass bite continued last weekend. We had reports of bass in Half Moon Cove (again) and Cloister Cove. Shiners and swimbaits saw the most action. The panfish bite has also been fire lately. The rangers have seen baskets of sunfish coming out of the lake. They are also biting on Powerbait and pieces of nightcrawler. No reports of catfish last weekend, but we expect that to change with New Moon Fishing coming up on March 29th!

Conditions: The current water temperature is 57 degrees near the dock. The water column is well oxygenated and conditions are good for trout. The district has been drawing water. Lake elevation is at 691 feet. The sun is rising at 6:18 a.m. and setting at 5:44 p.m.
