Hello from your Lake Jennings! Merry Christmas everyone!!!!!! Don't forget we will be open Christmas Day to try out your new gear. We'll be open daily Decemeber 25th thru January 3rd. The shore anglers are doing well for the trout at Cactus Patch. Trouters in boats are doing very well in Half Moon Cove. Cats have moved back into deeper water. The bass have slowed down from last week. Some ice jig fish are coming from 30 ft. of water.

Best Trout Spots: Cactus Patch and Shadow Cove.
Best Trout Lures/Bait: Salmon peach Power Bait.

Best Catfish Spots: The dam buoyline and Hermit Cove.
Best Catfish Bait: Chicken livers, mackerel, and night crawlers. Use scent liberally.

Best Bass Spots: Target the steep banks, fish downhill with Morning Dawn or Aaron's Magic into 25 ft. of water.
Best Bass Lures/Bait: 6" worms.

Notables: No fish over 3 lbs. reported or limits under 1 hour.

Prognosis: Our 10th Sierra Bow trout plant is on schedule for Thursday, December 24th. We will stock 1,000lbs. every week for the next 14 weeks. I expect that the good trout bite will continue as the lake temperature drops. Don't forget that some of the best catfishing of the year is right now!!!! Just fish deep.

Water Temperature: 61 degrees on the surface.

Holiday Schedule: Lake Jennings will be open daily from December 25th (Christmas Day) thru January 3rd from 5:45 a.m. - 5:15 p.m.

FREE Fishing Classes Open to the Public!

Lake Jennings Fishing University will hold a fishing class this Sunday at 1:00 p.m. The classes concentrate on what is working best. This week's class will talk about trout fishing. Most importantly, the classes are FREE! Ranger Hugh will be the professor.
