Hello from your Lake Jennings! Sorry about the lack of information for the last two weeks, but I could not get out of bed to write this. I will admit that up until a few days ago the rumors of my demise seemed to be true but now appear to be exaggerated. What did die are the hot bites. We are raising the lake about 5 inches a day and that has everything trying to figure out where to go and what to do. The best trout spots have been Eagle and Sentry Points but the average is less than one trout per rod. The bass bite is about one bass per 8 hour day and no clear pattern. Catfish are still prowling the deeps, but it seems the moving water has got them congregating around the tower out of casting range. We know that there is a big bunch of trout at the tower because the ospreys are experiencing limit fishing.

Best Trout Spots: Eagle and Sentry Points.
Best Trout Lures/Bait: Inflated nightcrawlers.

Best Catfish Spots: The dam buoyline and Cloister Cove.
Best Catfish Bait: Chicken livers, mackerel, and night crawlers. Use scent liberally.

Best Bass Spots: None.
Best Bass Lures/Bait: None.

Notables: No fish over 3 lbs. reported or limits under 1 hour.

Prognosis: We will be open on Martin Luther King Day! Our Sierra Bow 13th trout plant is on schedule for Tuesday, January 12th. We will stock 1,000 lbs. every week for the next 11 weeks.

Water Temperature: 54 degrees on the surface.

Holiday Schedule: Lake Jennings will be open this Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday (Martin Luther King Day) from 5:45 a.m. - 5:15 p.m.

FREE Fishing Classes Open to the Public!
Lake Jennings Fishing University will hold a fishing class this Sunday at 1:00 p.m. The classes concentrate on what is working best. This week's class will talk about trout fishing. Most importantly, the classes are FREE! Ranger Hugh will be the professor.
