Warm weather this week has produced some good trout action, although Wednesday was cloudy and rainy.

Best Bait: Power Bait, Rapalas. Night crawlers

Notables:


Mike Behnke of Escondido caught 2 trout weighing 4 pounds, the largest was 3 pounds on orange power bait.

Jason Herald of Ramona caught a 3.7 pound 22 inch trout on green power bait at Pumphouse Cove.

Pam Bates of San Marcos caught 3 trout, with the largest 4.3 pounds on a night crawler at the T-Dock.

Ryan Quigley and JR Hororato of Orange County caught 10 trout with a total weight of 12.2 pounds. The largest was 4.1 pounds using a Fire Tiger Rapala at the Willows and Lone Pine.

Jerry Emilo of San Diego caught a 5.7 pound trout on a night crawler on the shore south of the T-Dock.

Mike Bensfeld of Chula Vista caught a 3.5 pound on pink and yellow power worms at Lone Pine.

Bill Mace of Spring Valley caught 5 trout weighing a total of 8 pounds. the largest was 3.4 pounds using orange power worms at the Dike.


Water fowl results: 10 Ruddy and 3 Mallards were taken in Wednesday's hunt.

Nature Walk: The self guided walk is 3 1/2 miles around the lake. The trail is open for daily use.

The free fishing class is held every Saturday at the launch ramp. Meet Ranger Charlie at 10:00 am.

The DECONTAMINATION WASH DOWN IS REQUIRED for all PRIVATE VESSELS BEFORE A LAUNCH. Float tubes and waders must be washed down before using the Lake. There is a fee for the wash down.

GREETING FROM LAKE CUYAMACA Our hours have changed. In January the Lake has waterfowl hunting every Wednesday, all day, and on Sunday morning. That means we are closed all day on Wednesdays and do not open for fishing on Sundays until 10:00 am. the tackle shop opens at 8 am on weekdays and at 6:00am on Saturdays.
