Hello from your Lake Jennings! Don't forget we are open Presidents' Day. Friday
and Saturday were very good for trout, but Sunday morning was difficult even for the
lake staff who know all the secret spots. The lead core bass guys trolling 4 colors
around the points were getting nice fish. Dropshotters fishing those same points in 30
ft. of water also caught fish. Bass have been seen moving up the bank in the late
afternoon. Cats continue to bite well at the dam buoy line.
Best Trout Spots: Cactus patch, Half Moon Cove and Sentry Points.
Best Trout Lures/Bait: Inflated nightcrawlers and salmon peach Power Bait.
Best Catfish Spots: The dam buoyline.
Best Catfish Bait: Chicken livers, mackerel, and night crawlers. Use scent liberally.
Best Bass Spots: The quarry.
Best Bass Lures/Bait: Crawdads.
Notables: No fish over 3 lbs. or limits under 1 hour.
Prognosis: We'll stock a 1,000 lb. load of Mt. Lassen's great (Sierra Bow) trout this Thursday. The crystal
ball says the weather will continue be nice next weekend. The trout inventory remains high. The hot weather
this week should light a fire under our bass. Fish late afternoons for pre-spawn fish. The water temp has risen
from 56 to 58 degrees.
Water Temperature: 58 degrees on the surface.
Current Schedule: Lake Jennings will be open this Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Lake Jennings Fishing University will hold a fishing class this Sunday at 1:00 p.m. The classes concentrate on what is working best. This week's class will talk about trout fishing. Most importantly, the classes are FREE! Ranger Hugh will be the professor.

Lake Jennings Fish Report
Lake JenningsHello from your Lake Jennings! Friday was a good day for trout fishing but after that it was a washout for everything. The muddy water from the creek in Hermit Cove should have produced cats but no one was fishing them. Sunday had a few anglers but not enough to get a read on the fishing. Best Trout Spots: Cactus patch, Half Moon Cove and Sentry Points. Best Trout Lures/Bait: Inflated nightcrawlers and salmon peach Power Bait. Best Catfish Spots: The dam buoyline and Hermit Cove. Lake JenningsHello from your Lake Jennings! The trout continue to be the main attraction. Baiters are still outfishing the metal chuckers. The bass have moved to deeper water and are being found in the 40 to 50' range. It is not the every crawdad equals a fish bite of a couple of weeks ago. Ikas and jigs and dropshotting morning dawn worms. No one is fishing for cats, but we know that they are biting because the trouters catch them incidentally. Best Trout Spots: Cactus patch, Half...... Read More
