Fishing was wet,
Catching was poor.
It did not matter what you were fishing for.
Need we say more!

Best Trout Spots: Cactus patch, Half Moon Cove and Sentry Points.
Best Trout Lures/Bait: Inflated nightcrawlers and salmon peach Power Bait.
Best Catfish Spots: The dam buoyline.
Best Catfish Bait: Mackerel. Use scent liberally.
Best Bass Spots: The launch ramp.
Best Bass Lures/Bait: Crawdads.

Notables: No fish over 3 lbs. or limits under 1 hour.
Prognosis: We will stock a 1,000 lb. load of Mt. Lassen's great (Sierra Bow) trout this Tuesday. The unsettled weather and a rapidly rising lake will keep everything off their game. The lake should be completely full by March 1st and things should settle down. The freshly flooded brush should be very attractive to pre-spawn bass in the afternoons.
Water Temperature: 61 degrees on the surface.
Current Schedule: Lake Jennings will be open this Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

FREE Fishing Classes Open to the Public!
Lake Jennings Fishing University will hold a fishing class this Sunday at 1:00 p.m. The classes concentrate on what is working best. This week's class will talk about trout fishing. Most importantly, the classes are FREE! Ranger Hugh will be the professor.

Hello from your Lake Jennings! Don't forget we are open Presidents' Day. Friday and Saturday were very good for trout, but Sunday morning was difficult even for the lake staff who know all the secret spots. The lead core bass guys trolling 4 colors around the points were getting nice fish. Dropshotters fishing those same points in 30 ft. of water also caught fish. Hello from your Lake Jennings! Friday was a good day for trout fishing but after that it was a washout for everything. The muddy water from the creek in Hermit Cove should have produced cats but no one was fishing them. Sunday had a few anglers but not enough to get a read on the fishing.
