Greetings from Lake Cuyamaca: STOCKING?? Mt. Lassen will be stocking 1,200 lbs of?? there finest trout once again this week!!?? Last week 50lbs of trophy trout?? between 8lbs and 12 lbs were stocked. Thanks to a donation by "Dan's Auto Glass"?? four remain!!! Anglers this past week have enjoyed warm weather and limit style action. Full stringer and limit style action should continue through the next few weeks. The Crappie are making a strong showing around the docks and shorelines. Bullhead catfish are very aggressive??in seeking out?? your night crawler on the bottom.??(??2) two "Tagged?? Alpers Trout" are still eluding anglers. Catching a tagged trout will reward the angler with Motor Boat Rental and 4 fishing permits for(1) one day!!!??
!!! We now have???? 3 NEW SLEEPING CABINS?? for rent!!! ??**call for information.**
Trout Bait: 20-24 inch leader off the bottom inflated night crawler smeared with scent, Power Bait,?? salmon eggs.???? (Pautzkes Krill gel or liquid Krill scent)
Best Trout Lures: Gold Panther Martins and Rooster Tails. Use scent!?? (Krill gel works best)??
Best Trout Spots: Lone Pine, Chambers Park, West Shore line by dam buoy line.
Notable: Todd Holverson, El Cajon, 13lbs 12oz & 13lbs 8oz Largemouth Bass, White frog & baby E.F.E., Chambers Park. Larry Snow, Lakeside, 10lbs 8oz Large mouth, secret, shallows. Dan Kite El Cajon 10lbs 11oz Channel catfish, Squid, North shore. Charlie Taylor, Julian, 8lbs 8oz Rainbow, ? Launch Ramp. Deborah Cillehen, San Diego, 4lbs Alpers (tagged), Power Bait, secret spot. Brad Piter, La Mesa, 3lbs Rainbow & 25 crappie, power bait &tube jigs, Dike. ( limits in 1 hour )??
Fly Fishing: Try a?? Black Wooly Bugger, Olive Matuka, Egg Sucking Leach, slow retrieve.??Bluegill and Crappie taking emergers in shallow water of the south end. Some surface action late P.M.
Nature Walk: The guided walk will be conducted by Clint Powell June3, 2007.The trail is open for daily use. 3 1/2 miles around the lake. ??
Free Fishing Class Saturday at 10:AM: ?? Ranger Willard?? will teach??tried and true trout techniques using?? bait, tube jigs and lures for trout.??
Prognosis:!! With the stocking again this week, the weather conditions, make it a perfect time to spend the Memorial weekend with us. No May Haze up here. This will provide plenty of action for anglers of all ages. With the?? (huge inventory) of trout its time to come up and catch your limit. Try trolling with gold Panther Martins, Rapalas,?? and Rooster Tails.?? Water?? surface temp 58-65 deg, the BIG Bass are in the shallows. Come up and try for a double digit HOG!!!
