Greetings from lake Cuyamaca. We are open daily at 6 a.m. Shore fishing ends at 8p.m. We now have showers in our north campground. You can use your canoes and kayaks on the lake. It will need to be washed down before launching.

Still have not been able to stock trout because of the water temp. The trout are biting but you have to go deep. Crappie and catfish are biting and always fun for the kids. Rod and Tom Knochenhawer each caught 5 trout using green powerbait and crawlers The were fishing out in mid lake. Manolo Del Pozzo took 4 trout using green powerbait. Also out in the middle of the lake. Carly Childress caught 10 Crappie using wax worms and a jig at the T dock.

There are approximately 239 species of native and 48 species of introduced plants and trees at Lake Cuyamaca. Western Black Willow define the high water mark of the lake. The lake is at an elevation of 4,600 feet. Along the edges are native Oak, Coulter and Jeffrey Pine trees. Rainfall averages from 20 to 45 inches annually.

There is a free fishing class every Saturday at 10 a.m. at the launch ramp. Decontamination washdown is required for all private vessels and motors before launch.
