Greetings from Lake Cuyamaca. We are open daily at 6 a.m.. Shore fishing ends at 8pm. For all you campers, we now have showers in our North Shore Campground. See Beckie for details. You can use your canoes and kayaks on the lake. Remember, they will need to be washed down before launching into the lake. The hot weather has continued and the trout are still being elusive, especially during the heat of the day. We were not able to receive a load of trout from DFG this week due to the water temp.

Notables: Three fisherman from San Diego and Mexico City did catch their limits of trout using Green Power Bait and Nightcrawlers in the middle of the lake. Carly Childress of Escondido caught 10 crappie using a jig and wax worm combo at the T-Dock.

When approaching the meadows and waters of Lake Cuyamaca from Highway 79, please drive carefully. The deer and other animals may be crossing the road in both directions. The fawns are following their mothers, so there may be more than one deer crossing.

Free fishing class is held every Saturday at 10AM at the launch ramp. Decontamination wash down is required for all the private vessels and motors before launch. Check with staff if you have questions. For more information, please call 877-581-9904
