Greetings from Lake Cuyamaca. The first day of autumn arrives on Thursday, September 23rd. This is a great time to star gaze above the waters at Lake Cuyamaca. Observe the Milky Way and the other constellations. The Harvest Moon will also appear from the eastern sky on Thursday. The moonlight creates a lighted path across the Lake waters. As the moon rises, it gives our eyes the illusion of being larger than normal.

Notables: Stu Bakin and family caught 1 trout and 9 catfish. The cats weighed a total of 10 pounds and were caught in the middle of the Lake. Brandon caught a 5 foot sturgeon on nightcrawlers between the North Jetty and Lone Pine. Ty Doren caught 4 trout for a total of 4.1 pounds and 2 crappie on a rapala at MacGregor Cove.

Don't forget the free fishing class is held every Saturday at 10 AM at the Launch Ramp. The Decontamination wash down is required for all private vessels and motors before a launch. To make reservations for camping, condos or cabins, call 877-581-9904. We are open daily at 6 AM. Shore fishing ends at 7 PM. We have extended canoes and kayaks on the lake until November 1st as long as the weather stays good.
