Greetings from Lake Cuyamaca. The fishing remains very good. The cooler weather has helps plus the nice Rainbows that were planted last week. The Bass, Crappie and Catfish continue to bite so come on up and try your luck. The usual bait, nightcrawlers and Power Bait are working the best. The staff continue to work hard getting ready for the Annual O.P. Ball "Fishin In the Pines" Free Kids Fishing Derby which will be held on, Saturday, September 25 this year. Those kids ages 4 through 15 can fish free and the kid that catches the biggest trout wins some very nice prices. There will be prizes and free hot dog lunch. Call the number below for details.

. We had a "first" last week. LondonAlley Entertainment filmed a music video on the island. The folk/rock band Local Natives were producing what we hope, is a hit for them. A little change of pace for us. Don't forget the free fishing class is held every Saturday at 10 AM at the Launch Ramp. The Decontamination wash down is required for all private vessels and motors before a launch. To make reservations for camping, condos or cabins, call 877-581-9904. We do not take reservations online. We are open daily at 6 AM. Shore fishing ends at 7:15 PM. We now have showers in our north shore campground. See Beckie for details. You can use your canoes and kayaks on the lake until November 1st. Remember, they will need to be washed down before launching.
