Happy Thanksgiving from Lake Cuyamaca. We are open everyday at 6am. Closing time for shore fishing is sunset. Duck hunting starts December 1st. We will be closed on Wednesday and Sunday morning until 10 am through the months of December and January. Jess Ranch delivered 1200 pounds of trout this week. Free fishing class is held every Saturday at 10:00 am. Meet Ranger Charlie at the launch ramp. The decontamination washdown is required for all private vessels and motors before a launch. Also, float tubes and waders must be washed down before using the lake. There is a fee for the wash down. Best Trout Bait: Nightcrawlers, power bait
Best spots: Lone Pine, The Dike, North Shore
Notables: Edward Svacina of San Diego caught 4 trout, the largest at 6 pounds using yellow, orange and green rooster tail spinner at pumphouse cove. Gary Buster and Dave Pallom of San Diego caught 3 trout for a total weight of 10 1/2 pounds, the largest was 6 pounds. They were using Gulp and Candy Rainbow power bait at Lone Pine. Cherokee Paul of Poway caught a 6.7 pound trout using a Lil Jake at the Dike. Don Cooper of San Diego caught a 6.7 pound trout using Power Bait at Lone Pine. Bill Mace of Santee caught 5 trout for a total of 6.7 pounds. His largest was 4.7 pounds. He was using orange twist power Bait on the North Shore, near the Dam. Steve Hay of San Diego caught 4 trout weighing a total of 10 pounds. He was using Night crawlers with garlic dip at the Jetty.
