Greetings from Lake Cuyamaca. We are closed all day on Wednesday and Sunday mornings until 10 am for duck hunting in the months of December and January. Don't forget the free fishing class is held every Saturday at 10:00 am. Meet Ranger Charlie at the launch ramp. The decontamination washdown is required for all private vessels and motors before a launch. Also, float tubes and waders must be washed down before using the lake. There is a fee for the wash down. Notables: William Clark of El Cajon caught 4 trout the largest at 2.9 pounds. Tyler Lirntzsche of El Centro caught 3 trout, the largest 1.5 pounds using Rainbow power bait at Pumphouse Cove. P & J Behrend of El Centro caught 7 trout. The largest was 16 inches using large flies at the Dike. Flea of Descanso caught 4 trout, the largest 4 pounds, using night crawlers at Chambers Park. Mike McGinty of Chula Vista caught 5 trout for a total weight of 11 pounds. The largest was 7.5 pounds. He was using night crawlers and spring green power bait at Lone Pine. 11 year old, Sam DeCasas of Chula Vista caught 5 trout at Heron Point from a boat. He used a Silver Kastmaster for three of the trout and Power Bait for the other two. Gabriel DeCasas caught 2 trout and Aaron, age 7 years caught his first fish (2 trout) during this outing.

Lassen delivered 1000 pounds of their sierra bows this week. They weighed 3 to 7 pounds. The trout fishing has been good all week. There were some 2 hour limits on Thursday.
