Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from Lake Cuyamaca. We are in the midst of duckl hunting so our hours have changed. We are closed all day Wednesdays and closed Sunday mornings until 10 am. Mt. Lassen delivered 1000 pounds of rainbows plus. DFG brought us 1100 pounds of 1 1/2 to 2 pounders. Free fishing class starts at 10:00 am at the Launch Ramp. Tell the ranger if you want to attend. Decontamination washdown is required for all private vessels and motors before a launch. Float tubes and waders must be washed down before using the lake. There is a fee for the wash down. Notables: Robert Bosio of El Cajon caught 5 trout, the largest was 6.2 lbs. He was fishing with nitecrawlers. Rob Botterfield of Corona,landed a 6 pound trout at Chambers Park using power bait. Chris Hamala of Alpine got 5 trout, the largest 5.8 lbs at Lone Pine using Cpt America power bait and crawlers. M. McGinty from Chula Vista also was at Lone Pine and took a 5.9 rainbow trout using an inflated crawler. Dan Cortez limited out with the largest trout being a 3 pounder. He was fishing the Dike area. Kathy Hartog and Terry Hartog of Menifee each limited out with trout. Terry's largest was 3 lbs and Kathy's largest was 2.6 pounds. They were at Lone Pine using nitecrawlers. The duck hunters have been doing very well so far this year. And the good hunting weather is just starting. 15 ducks so far, a combonation of Mallards, Buffleheads, Shovlers and one Canvasback. Stay tuned. DFG may be delivering another load of fish before the end or the year. Will let you know.
