Lake Conditions - Surface temperature is 49.9 and at 20ft 48.7. Water visibility is clearing to more than 5 feet.

** IMPORTANT NOTE** There are currently no state fishing licenses available in Lake Morena so be sure you acquire one before you arrive.

Trout- Green or rainbow Powerbait has been the ticket this week for fooling the trout. The exception being Cesar and Yolanda Penaloza from San Diego pulling in their catch using rapalas and roster tails. Ron Costa from Campo, see photo #1 limited totaling 9lbs 12oz back in Paradise cove. Joining the Powerbait-Paradise cove parade is Jim and Dyllan White with Steve Clark, Campo, limiting with a combined total of 24lbs 10 oz. Angelica Faulstich, San Diego, claimed her limit of 12lbs 6oz. Saving the best for last, Tom Bossard of Jacumba roped a 9lb12oz 'bow. Small treble-hooks, Kastmasters, light line, speckled green Powerbait, and plain ol' night crawlers are your next best bet.

Carp - They have not been biting lately. They could be heading to the mouth of the Cottonwood creek.

Bass - No Bass reported this week.

Blue Gill - No Bluegills reported this week.

Crappie - They have been quite allusive. We're looking forward to a great spring bite.

Catfish - Geezer cove was the more active area for the cats with a few 1 and 2 pounders reported.
