Lake Conditions: Surface temp.48.4 and 47.7 @ 20 ft.
Water Visibility; 3 to 5 ft.
** IMPORTANT NOTE** There are currently no state fishing licenses available in Lake Morena so be sure you acquire one before you arrive.
It's a perfect time to enjoy our wonderful facilities. Fishing remains consistent with great action reported from our anglers.
Trout: Anglers are still finding rainbow trout in 20 feet or less of water using night crawlers, power bait, Shad raps, spinners and rapalas near the dam and Pumphouse cove. Landry Christiansen of Carlsbad reeled in 3lb 4oz trout in Paradise Cove. Griffin Vu also of Carlsbad pulled in a gem of a one pound trout off a night crawler in Geezer Cove. Lewis Bertussi of El Cajon brought in a 5lb 7oz trout using green power bait. Best bet is to rent one of our boats and work the lake.
Carp: Still splashing, they like corn and corn meal balls.
Bass: No action on the Bass lately.
Blue Gill: No action on the Blue Gill here lately.
Crappie: No sign of Crappie this time of year.
Catfish: If you have the Mackerel then the Cats are biting. Ray Holder and William Purefoy of San Diego are the Kings of the Catfish reeling in a 24lb stringer with the biggest weighing in at 9 lbs. out at the dam.
Water Visibility; 3 to 5 ft.
