In order to protect Wohlford from invasive exotic Quagga mussels, there is still a temporary ban on private water craft and equipment that could have been exposed to mussels. Restricted equipment includes private boats, canoes, kayaks, float tubes, trolling motors, fish finders, anchors, and other equipment that contacts the water.

Lake Wohlford is offering $20 all day motorboats to seniors on Tuesdays and to active military on the first and third Saturdays of each month.

The trout fishing is good particularly in Oakvale Cove and the western half of the lake. Edgar Morales had the largest trout of the past week at 6.35#s caught on a nightcrawler, green powerbait combination in Boat Dock Cove. Powerbait (greens and yellows), salmon eggs, and inflated nightcrawlers have been the preferred baits.

The contest for the biggest crappie of the month has been a heated one with Rick Hatch, Wendell Jackson, and Isaac Weight all weighing in multiple fish. The leader for the month though belongs to Kyle Harrington at 2.15# caught on a crappie jig at Crappie Rock.
