Park Hours: 6:00 A.M. - 7:30 P.M. Open seven days a week.
Dock Closes: 7:00 P.M.
Last Plant: 1,000 lbs of Channel Catfish Friday July 13th
Next Plant: 1,000 lbs of Channel Catfish Friday July 27th
Water Temperature: At surface 74.66 f., 5.86 D.O. @ 15' 74.84 f., 5.41 D.O.
Water Level: Low level, private water craft are currently banned.
In order to protect Wohlford from invasive exotic Quagga mussels, there is still a temporary ban on private water craft and equipment that could have been exposed to mussels. Restricted equipment includes private boats, canoes, kayaks, float tubes, trolling motors, fish finders, anchors, and other equipment that contacts the water.
Lake Wohlford is offering $20 all day motorboats to seniors on Tuesdays and to active military on the first and third Saturdays of each month.
The second of four scheduled Catfish plants took place yesterday and the second is scheduled for the 27th. The Catfish respond well to chicken liver or cut mackerel. Stop by the ranger station for a dough bait recipe that works great on both Catfish and Carp.
The Crappie have been biting mostly in the first couple of hours after we open. Crappie prefer the cover of submerged trees and rocks in which to hide. Live golden shiners and finger jigs are what they mostly bite on.
Each month Whopper Contest winners in 4 categories are awarded a free fishing and boating permit. For information on the contest or fishing conditions, please contact the Ranger Station at (760) 839-4346.
