Lake Conditions: Surface temperature is 78.1 and 76.3 @ 20ft. Water Clarity: Water visibility is at about 1' to 3' depending on the wind.

** IMPORTANT NOTE** There are currently no state fishing licenses available in Lake Morena so be sure you acquire one before you arrive.

Trout: The trout, I believe, have finally ended their season. Just a few short months until the stockings begin again.

Bass: The Bass are being caught in the 2 lb range with up to over 5 lbers reported through the middle of the lake. All caught and released.

Catfish: The catfish have been the most caught fish lately. Larry Bethune, Santee, and Dean Curry, La Mesa, working both sides of the lake, Pumphouse and Paradise coves, were here three day this week taking limits each day. Their baits included mackerel and night crawlers. Their largest went to Dean with his 5 lb 10 oz blue cat.

Blue Gill: Pumphouse Cove was the spot for the gills but other rocky areas were also working as well. Larry and Dean also boasted of 22 of the gills one day alone.

Crappie: The crappie bite has slowed to zip.

Carp: These fish are saving themselves for another time.
