Trout Little was reported this week, as most anglers were preoccupied with the great Bass and Cat bite. But Joey James from San Diego fooled a nice 1 lb 7 oz trout.

Bass The Large-Mouth are continuing to be found throughout the lake. Some the better spots have been Horseshoe cove, near the larger boulders at Cabin cove, the northwest side of the narrows and the point off Pumphouse cove. Most of the Bass are weighing between 1 and 2 lbs with the exceptions of reported 6, 7, and 9 lbers. Brian Scott was all over his spots catch and releasing 10 with an estimated best five at 20lbs. His largest was a fat 6 lber. Brian Fansher was working over his usual places catch and releasing 17 small Large-mouths. Whatt Brookshire, pictured above El Cajon, got his picture taken with his 6 lb 2 ozer using Texas rigged Powerworms on the south side of Horseshoe cove. Bob and Caleb Peterson, Alpine, managed a 7 lb 14 ozer along with 20 other catches on a medially of nests around the lake using their various jigs. Tim Songal, Imperial Beach, was slinging a Lizard near Cabin cove when got into his 9lb even Bass.

Catfish The Catfish have continued to please anglers with many limits reported. Nightcrawlers are the best bet. The fish cleaning house tells a better story with plenty spoils observed. Joey James was good enough to limited with cats' totaling 6 lbs 8 ozs.

Bluegill Geezer cove has provides many opportunities of success for Bluegills. Cabin cove has also fared well with small hooks and segments of Nightcrawlers.

Crappie The Crappies have moved away from shore and have been found in the deeper waters near the Dam using small jigs.

Carp These fish are mouthing the surface parading around the boat dock. No other stories here.
