Ranger 85 2.5 Day Sept. 6&7 2013

We departed San Diego Thursday evening with high hopes and several options on a direction to go. That's what I love about fall fishing. With the trophy blues out to the west and the numbers to the south, what do you do?

We headed south as the big guys were MIA the past 24 hours. Sun rise found us 75 miles south and all by ourselves. The weather was good and fishing conditions were optimal. As we meandered, we found kelp after kelp that kicked out yellows. The action was fast and furious. We hit a couple at the 100 mile mark that got the job done as well as produce some trophy Dorado.

What a day.

Just when we thought our day was winding down, we found a sonar mark and picked up 8 Bluefin and a few yellowfin...our first for the season. We set the sea anchor and decided to spend the evening looking around the area on Saturday for more tuna. Something just didn't seem right, however. We decided to pull the bag and head a few more miles south to better our chances. At sun up, Dustin and Chris from the crows nest spotted the biggest kelp of our season. We ended up hittin it for better than 100 Yellowfin and a few handful of Dorado.

Talk about a trip maker.

We wrapped up our trip with 109 Yellowfin, 8 Bluefin, 310 Yellowtail and 21 Dorado. Outstanding. Mark my words, this will be a "September to Remember".

Fall fishing has begun and it will continue. The water peaked at 74 on our trip and the kelps are loading up. Don't miss your opportunity to get in on the action. We have trips on both the Ranger 85 and Coral Sea designed to put right in the middle of it all. Ultra Limited Load on the Coral Sea and Limited Load on the Ranger 85 will assure your success offshore.

See you onboard
