Greetings from Lake Cuyamaca: The catching of trout continues to be providing limit style action on bait, power worms smeared with Krill Gel, and Power Bait. The success for boaters remains steady with bait and trolling.??The vigorous appetite of the trout is expected to continue. The inventory of trout in the lake??will once again be increased?? with a stocking from Mt. Lassen.

!!! ALPERS TROUT STOCKING FOR THANKSGIVING !!!

Trout Bait:20-24 inch leader off the bottom inflated night crawler smeared with scent, Power Bait,??and Power Worms.?? (Pautzkes Krill gel or liquid Krill scent)

Best Trout Lures: Black/Yellow Panther Martins, Black Rooster Tails, Orange Rapala. Use scent!?? (Krill gel works best)??

Best Trout Spots: Lone Pine, Shore line Chambers Park, Dike, Finger Jetty's

Notable: Zach Wilson, El Cajon, 2lbs 8oz Rainbow, Power Bait, North Jetty. Adam Valencia, El Cajon, 1lbs 8oz Rainbow, Power bait, Pumphouse Cove. Jonathan Valencia, El Cajon, 1lbs 8oz Rainbow, Power bait, Pumphouse Cove.?? (Lots of 2hour limits)

Fly Fishing:?? With the cooling water temps Matukas and Wooly Buggers would be a good choice?? This should produce some fine trout.

Nature Walk: The guided walk will be conducted by Clint Powell November 4th at 1 P.M. .The trail is open for daily use. 3 1/2 miles around the lake.

Free Fishing Class Saturday at 10:AM:?? Ranger Willard will teach tried and true trout tactics, also cover Crappie and Catfish using tube jigs and bait.

Prognosis:!! ??With another 1,200 lbs of trout added this week and cool water temps, the trout action will continue producing limits. Using bait for a quick limit, or hardware for the bigger trout. Cooling weather will provide the Fall trout action we always anticipate. The Fall season leaves are appearing on the trees and plants, come up and see some of natures outstanding color arrangements. Please fell free to ask our staff any questions you may have.
