Greetings from Lake Cuyamaca: Mt Lassen stocked 1,200 lbs of trout last week, this added to the inventory has the trout providing limit style action on bait, power worms smeared with Krill Gel, and Power Bait. The success for boaters remains steady with bait and trolling.??The vigorous appetite of the trout is expected to continue.
!!! ALPERS TROUT STOCKING FOR THANKSGIVING !!!
Trout Bait:20-24 inch leader off the bottom inflated night crawler smeared with scent, Power Bait,??and Power Worms.?? (Pautzkes Krill gel or liquid Krill scent)
Best Trout Lures: Gold Panther Martins, Rooster Tails,?? Use scent!?? (Krill gel works best)
Best Trout Spots: Lone Pine, Shore line Chambers Park, Dike, Finger Jetty's
Notable: Sam Dass, Rancho Bernardo, 7lbs 8oz Channel Cat, Night Crawler, Shore. (Lots of 2hour limits)
Fly Fishing:?? With the cooling water temps Matukas and Wooly Buggers would be a good choice?? This should produce some fine trout.??
Nature Walk: The guided walk will be conducted by Clint Powell December 2, at 1 P.M. .The trail is open for daily use. 3 1/2 miles around the lake.
Free Fishing Class Saturday at 10:AM:?? Ranger Willard will teach tried and true trout tactics, also cover Crappie and Catfish using tube jigs and bait.
Prognosis:!! ??Cooling weather, water temps, and the fall winds means its time to bring a jacket to keep you warm while catching your limit of trout. Use bait for a quick limit, or hardware for the bigger trout. The Fall season leaves are appearing on the trees and plants, come up and see some of natures outstanding color arrangements. We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of Tim Alpers and his FAMOUS TROUT for your Thanksgiving angling pleasure. TROUT and TURKEY any one??? Please fell free to ask our staff any questions you may have.
