Lake Poway was stocked with 1,500 lbs. of trout on Thursday, March 25th.  The trout bite was slow Thursday but picked up Friday and people were catching their limits throughout the weekend.   The North Shore had a good bite and the usual spots by the fishing pier and Half-Moon Bay were also good.  The trout moved out to deeper water and were also being caught on the opposite shoreline. The next stock of trout will be Thursday April 8th and the best baits for trout this season have been mini jigs, spoons, and power bait. On Friday, March 26th a 22 lb. catfish was caught (see photo). The bass and catfish bite has remained steady off the shoreline.  Catfish can be caught with mackerel, shrimp, or nightcrawlers.

Boating Closed - Due to damage sustained during a recent windstorm, the boat dock has remained temporarily closed and boats are not available for rent. Please check back for updated information.

When you stop by concessions to buy your permit keep a 6 ft. distance when in line and adhere to the maximum occupancy for the store.  Ask about the best spots and baits. They have up to the minute information.
