Despite the rain, the trout bite has remained excellent. The northern shore is outpacing the southern side, at this time, with limits being reported out of Willow Cove, Boat Dock Cove, and Senior Shoreline. The biggest trout of the week belonged to Mitchell White of Fallbrook and weighed 10.80#s it was caught using a kastmaster in Boat Dock Cove. Other notable catches included: Mike Inman’s 8.40#, Keo Sitt’s 6.75#, and Richard Vargas’s pair weighing 5.60#&5.10# respectively. Wednesday’s plant will be the sixth consecutive weekly plant. The top baits continue to be inflated nightcrawlers, powerbait, and salmon eggs.

Largemouth Bass can be found around structure and are hitting on crawdads, crank bait, or dark colored plastics.

Catfish can be caught throughout the lake. Lake Wohlford cats prefer cut mackerel or chicken liver.

To protect Wohlford from invasive exotic Quagga mussels, there is still a ban on private water craft and equipment that could have been exposed to mussels. Restricted equipment includes private boats, canoes, kayaks, float tubes, trolling motors, fish finders, anchors, and other equipment that contacts the water.

Lake Wohlford is offering $20 all day motor boats to seniors on Tuesdays and Thursdays and to active military on the first and third Saturdays of each month.
