Hello from Lake Jennings! A good bass bite continues on the bank
stimulated by dropping water levels. Anything resembling a crawdad or small
fish is working. Natural colors are best. The cat stock did not make it better, it
got worse. Deep is still where you want to be.
Best Trout Spots: None
Best Trout Lures/Bait: None
Best Catfish Spots: Both the dam and the Hermit Cove buoy lines.
Best Catfish Bait: Mackerel. Use scent liberally.
Best Bass Spots: Dawn and dusk tight on the bank.
Best Bass Lures/Bait: Ikas, Senkos, # 13 Rapalas & Pop R's.
Notables: Sat., Dan Heiser, El Cajon, 7-8 largemouth, Cactus Patch, Ika.
Prognosis: This is a good time to target largemouths on the bank. Use greens and browns in crawdad imitations or stick baits. Open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This week it is 6 AM until 7:45 PM. Prime times for both cats and bass are 6 to 9 AM and 5 to 7:45 PM. The first trout plant will be October 22nd.
Water Temperature: 77-79 degrees.
Current Schedule: We will be open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 6:00 a.m. ??? 7:45 p.m.
FREE Fishing Classes Open to the Public!
Lake Jennings Fishing University will hold a fishing class this Sunday at 1:00 p.m. The classes
concentrate on what is working best. This week's class will talk about fishing cats. Most importantly, the
classes are FREE! Ranger Hugh will be the professor.
