Hello from Lake Jennings! Here's something you can take to the bank: Senko's, Ika's and Bass Assassins are being eaten alive by bass on the bank. Later in the day the fish move deeper until evening. Best bet is to drag something off of land into the water. Catfish continue to be caught along the buoy line in eighty feet plus water.

Best Trout Spots: None

Best Trout Lures/Bait: None

Best Catfish Spots: The dam buoy line.

Best Catfish Bait: Mackerel. Use scent liberally.

Best Bass Spots: Dawn and dusk tight on the bank.

Best Bass Lures/Bait: Ikas, Senkos, #13 Rapalas & Pop R's.

Notables: Fri., David Reich, San Diego, 5-6 Largemouth, Senko, Otto Point. Fri., David Palmer, Lakeside, Bass, 7-13, Mudsucker, Half Moon Cove. Sun., 12-year old John Dobbs, Lakeside, 6-5 Bass, Swimbait, Hermit Cove. Sun., Blaze Conant, Lakeside, 6-12 Largemouth, Mudsucker, Hermit Cove.

Prognosis: Obviously, This is a good time to target largemouths. Use greens and browns in crawdad imitations or stick baits. Open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This week it is 6:15 a.m. until 7:15 p.m. Prime times for both cats and bass are 6:15 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. The first trout plant will be October 22nd.

Water Temperature: 77-79 degrees.

Current Schedule: We will be open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 6:15 a.m. ??? 7:15 p.m.

FREE Fishing Classes Open to the Public!


Lake Jennings Fishing University will hold a fishing class this Sunday at 1:00 p.m. The classes concentrate on what is working best. This week's class will talk about fishing cats. Most importantly, the classes are FREE! Ranger Hugh will be the professor.
