by Murray Reservoir Staff
Fishing has been slow this past week due to the fact we are in the tail end of a recent cold front that moved in this past week. Bass have been caught primarily using flat jigs and spoons jigging them at about 45-50 get deep. Blade baits such as Damikis and Jig Para blades have been effective as well working them though slack currents in the afternoon when the wind picks up. We will be coming into the beginning of Pre-Spawn coming up in the next week or so. So don’t be afraid to throw your favorite pre-spawn baits because they should be staging soon. Panfish fishing has been excellent the past 3 weeks with multiple crappie and quality bluegill being caught daily most are being caught on crickets or wax worms set up on a drop shot rig or using crappie shiners. Trout were also stocked on December 16th and we are seeing a few caught daily on Kastmasters or Rooster tails.
