  • Stocking: Catfish Season is almost here! The lake will be stocked with 1,000 lbs. of catfish this week. Find the new stocking schedule HERE.
  • What's the catch? It was a warm one this weekend, but bluegill was still biting at the t-dock and on Sentry Point and Cove. Fishermen were using nightcrawlers cut in half to reel them in. A few trout were also spotted in Sentry Cove, but no bites reported. The bass bite has been active. There are a lot of small bass in the lake, which means we had a good spawn this year. Roboworms and swimbaits were the bait of choice for bass.
  • Conditions: The water temperature is 76 degrees. For an up-to-date weather forecast in Lakeside click HERE. Looks to be in the warm all week!
  • Boat Rentals are available first-come first-served! All those in a boat must be from a shared household unit to a maximum of 5 people. Boats may be limited due to sanitation requirements. To save time and limit staff contact, please print, sign and bring with you, the boat waiver found HERE.
  • Lake COVID Regulations: Only one family unit in the bait shop at a time and everyone must wear a mask both in line and in the bait shop. Hand washing facilities are available at the bathrooms adjoining the bait shop. Please maintain social distancing at all times. Card payment is preferred. Fishing on the campground shoreline is for registered campers only. Please help us stay open by complying with these simple measures to keep our staff and the public safe. Thank you for your cooperation!
  • Attention Walkers: Access between Eagle Point and Sentry Point is only available to registered campers to better control occupancy in the campground. There are still no day users or visitors permitted into the campground. No dogs are permitted on the recreation side of the lake.
  • Camping Tips and Tricks: Last weekend was a scorcher, but with a few useful tips to beat the heat your camping experience can be more pleasant. Try setting up your tent just before sunset rather than when you first arrive on the campground. Your tent can act as a greenhouse and trap all of the day's heat inside. Pitching your tent in the shade, i.e. under a tree or shade structure can also help alleviate temperatures inside your tent. Even better...if you purchase a tent or shade structure made of reflective material! Don't forget to drink plenty of water and mind those pups during heatwaves.
  • WE'RE HIRING! Love the lake as much as we do? We're hiring Dockhands to provide excellent customer service to lake visitors and maintain our boat rental fleet. Dockhands work weekends and holidays at the lake. We're also looking for Park Hosts to work in our campground. Exchange a minimum of 20 hours per week (includes weekends and holidays) for a campsite that includes water and electricity under a month-to-month lease agreement. For more information or to apply, please visit  Helix Water District's job site.
  • We love receiving pictures from our fishermen and guests! If you have a picture you'd like to share, please email them to ranger@lakejennings.org and we may feature them in our next lake newsletter or on social media.
