Bass fishing was good last week, the largemouth were taking all types of finesse baits in anywhere from 2’ to 25’ off water. Heavy boat traffic on Sunday made the bite a little harder, but should return to same kind of bite if not better than last week. Bluegill have yet to show up in any numbers, although a few were caught by shore anglers in the aqueduct arm. Some catfish were spotted visually suspended in the trees in the Baroma Arm of the lake, although no catchers were reported to the concession.

Winter-like weather has kept most of the bass population in deeper water. There have been some largemouth on the  bank, but most of these are bucks in the 1-1.5 lb. range. The better fish for the most part have been in the 20’ to 30’ of water. Finesse presentation of all types produced both shallow and deep.
