Hello from Lake Jennings! Fishing for bass has been suspended!! The
only ones getting bit are lead core trollers at 4 colors using a #7 Rapala
Shad Rap! Cats are starting their transition out to deeper water. Fishing
the shallows in the coves are still producing but not in the numbers that
we have seen in previous weeks. Some cats are also being caught in 80
ft. of water. Hit and miss on the red ears. Mostly misses. Fishing is rated as fair overall...
Best Catfish Spots: Hermit Cove and Hermit Cove.
Best Catfish Bait: Night crawlers. Use scent liberally.
Best Bass Spots: Sentry Cove on the troll.
Best Bass Lures/Bait: #7 shad rap at 50 ft.
Notables: Fri., Brian Torres, age 8, National City, 1-12 red ear, Sentry Point, nightcrawler.
Prognosis: This Friday we will stock another 1,000 lbs of catfish from Rock and Fish Ranch.
Remember that we do not open until 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The nights are still beautiful, and
maybe a catfish dinner is in your future. We are down to our last month of night fishing.
Water Temperature: Still 77 to 79 degrees on surface.
Current Schedule: We'll be open this Friday from 5:00 p.m. - Midnight, Saturday from 5:30
a.m. - Midnight, and Sunday from 5:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Lake Jennings Fishing University will hold a fishing class this Sunday at 1:00 p.m. The classes concentrate on what is working best. This week's class will talk about cat fishing. Most importantly, the classes are FREE! Ranger Hugh will be the professor.

Lake Jennings Fish Report
Lake JenningsHello from Lake Jennings! Fishing is best described as fair for all species. The spots have not changed or the methods. The fishing float has been averaging one trout limit per day. It is the only spot on the lake to produce trout at all. The numbers are down, and no one has really figured it out. We could blame it on the moon but then our night fishing should be wide open. We could blame it on a visit by aliens in a spaceship...... Read More
Lake Jennings Fish Report
Lake JenningsHello from Lake Jennings! This weekend the anglers struggled to get bit whether it was bass, cats or trout. Surprisingly, a few limits of trout came off the fishing float and Shadow Cove. The first signs of shad being chased on the surface by bass happened early mornings and a few fish were taken by topwater casting to the boils. The cats were the biggest disappointment. The back end of Hermit Cove and the bird trees were the best bet but the average there was...... Read More
