It was another week of hit or miss with bass fishing at Lower Otay. One day they are chasing and breaking on huge shad balls and the next, remaining suspended and not biting on much. Still achievable with some work though. Solid crappie, bluegill and catfish reports coming in.

Shad is everywhere
Lower Otay ReservoirBass fishing was slow on Saturday but picked up on Sunday. Shad is everywhere and the bass are breaking and chasing in the early morning and evening. During the heat of the day moving into the shade of the tallies. Swimbaits, jerk baits and crank baits are the anglers choice. The bluegill bit remains good.
