Water Temperature: 76-78
Water Level: Holding steady
The hot summer days are definitely here this past week. Try fishing the
early morning and late evening hours for better chances of picking up the
catfish bite since night fishing is over.
Not much action around the lake with the hot weather still around. Susan
Borger from Arizona did not seem to mind the hot weather as she
produced a 3.6 pound bass near Bass Point. Some top water action from a
popper entices this nice size bass. It is always exciting to see a fish
explode on the bait from the surface. Nicely Done!!
Dixon's last stocks were on August 5 and August 12, with 500 pounds of
Catfish. Most of the fish are between 1-3 pounds. Mackerel and
anchovies are working best. There is a small amount of catfish being
taken out at the Buoy Line. Any of the fishing piers at Dixon is a good
spot for the Bluegills. Red and meal worms are working well for the
smaller size bluegills. Boat rental rates will be $35 for All Day motor
boats, $30 for Half Day motors. Row boats rates are $17 All Day and $14
for Half Day.
Trout action will start here around the first of November. Maybe sooner if
the water temps cool off by then. No stocking schedule has been finalized
yet, though we can expect another nice year of stocking those "Tail
Walkers" from Chaulk Mound Trout Ranch from good ol' Nebraska.
