  • Stocking: The lake was stocked with 1,000 pounds the week of July 4th. The next stocking of 1,000 pounds will be the week of July 25th. The catfish stocking schedule can be viewed HERE.
  • What's the catch? You can always count on the Bluegill bite during hot summer days. Lots of Bluegill caught from the campground shoreline and Cloister Cove this weekend. Meal worms are like candy to these little guys, so make sure you have those with you. Some sizeable bass were caught off of the t-dock on swimbaits. Bass were also biting in Half Moon Cove. A drop shot rig and nightcrawler cast along weed edges or structure can be effective enticement for the bass. We saw 12-14 pound catfish caught during night fishing this weekend. The cats seem to be hanging out in Shadow Cove and the tower buoy line. Mackerel is tried and true. Don't forget to send us pics of your catch!   • Conditions: The district is drawing water from the lake so expect lots of shoreline to fish from in the coming weeks. The draw will also give us a chance to cut back some of the tulle exposing even more shoreline. The surface temperature around the boat dock is 79 degrees.   • JULY HOURS: We will be open at the lake on Mondays and Thursdays, 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. during the month of July in addition to our regular weekend hours. Boat rentals and launches will be available.
  • Please remember...Lake Jennings is a drinking water reservoir and no body contact is permitted. Do not enter the water at any time. Keep cool by soaking a bandana in water and draping it over your neck or forehead. Mist your clothing and wear light colors. Thank you for your cooperation!
  • The tarantulas are on the move! Summer is their mating season so you may see them marching through the property. The most common species that we have at Lake Jennings is the California Ebony Tarantula. They are carnivores meaning they eat meat like beetles, cockroaches, crickets, etc. Females can live up to 25 years! If you see one around, it's best to just leave them be. While they are docile creatures and will generally only bite their prey, they do have large fangs and a bite can be painful. If you would like one removed from your campsite, reach out to one of our rangers.
  • Campground: The campground opens for long term reservations in September. It's never too early to book a campsite for 30 nights or more! If you would like more information about long term camping visit our website HERE.
  • The pavilion is open every weekend during kiosk hours. The pavilion has picnic tables, ping pong and foosball tables. Paddles and balls are available for check out at the campground kiosk. Game on!
