Wohlford will be closed to the public on weekdays after Labor Day. We will re-open for weekday use at the beginning of trout season in December.
The catfish seem to be liking the warm weather even if the fisherman do not. Lake Wohlford cats prefer chicken liver, shrimp, or cut mackerel.
Crappie are being caught in small numbers from underneath the crappie float in the early morning or late afternoon. The rest of the time they are suspended deep in the relative safety of their familiar haunts. They are most often caught in the early mornings or late afternoons.
Largemouth Bass are most often found near structure. Bass are being caught on crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and dark colored plastics
