Happy New Year Greetings from Lake Cuyamaca. We are in the midst of duck hunting so our hours have changed some. We are closed all day Wednesdays and closed Sunday mornings until 10 am. The fishing has been terrific. Many limits taken out. We hope the weather permits us to plant DFG trout this week. We are unable to sell DFG licenses at this time because we are not yet se up to use the new system that the state has gone to. We should be up and online in two weeks. You can go online to the DFG website to purchase your licenses fast and painless. The waterfowl hunters are happy even with the seemingly endless rain they have done very well. The annual junior waterfowl hunt will be held on Saturday, February 5. If you have a junior who is interested, please have them send us a post card with their name, age, hunting license number and they will be eligible for the drawing for the hunt.

Notables: Christian, Sarah and Steve Seiben of San Diego had a 15 pound stringer of Rainbows. The largest was 4 pounds. They were fishing at Lone Pine. Rafael Perez of Imperial Beach limited out with a stringer total weight of 8 pounds. The largest was 3 1/2 lbs. att the T dock. Felix Burkart, 4 years, of San Diego got 4 trout, largest was 2 pounds. He was using Nitecrawlers and Power Bait. Robert Hernandez, Julian, limited out using floating cheese at the Dike. Keven and Debbie Wright each limited out using a Cuyamaca sandwich at the finger jetty. And the list goes on. Many limits and there are still a few trout left for you.

Don't forget the free fishing class starts at 10:00 am at the Launch Ramp. Decontamination washdown is required for all private vessels and motors before a launch. Float tubes and waders must be washed down before using the lake. There is a fee for the wash down. For further information or to make reservations for camping, condos or cabins, please call 877-581-9904.
